A passion for thinking, reading and writing about life and living.

October 30th, 2018 was both the happiest and saddest day for me as a business owner. The day I closed a second location to my business I celebrated and I cried. It would not be the first time I would be at that juncture in my life. Today March 31, 2021 After 10 years of successful business ownership I am feeling very much the same. Only, I have changed, I have evolved and I am nothing but grateful.

In life, we all have moments that define us, I've had many. This site is about those moments for me. An immigrant daughter to a single mother, who created a path for herself out of grit and hard work. It's about thinking critically about issues that affect not only me but also others, and about opening up fully, to encourage accountability, dialogue and understanding.

Born and raised in Bogota-Colombia to an almost ordained priest (yes, the Catholic-church kind) and possibly one of the strongest women I've ever known. Grew up in one of the most violent times Colombia has ever endured, yet my childhood memories are very happy.  Living in the US since December 10th, 2001 at the age of fifteen.

After arriving in mid December 2001, I attended Northwestern Lehigh- Fun fact about that* I was the first EVER ESL student in that school district and my ESL teacher Ms. Stevens' spoke Chinese as a second language. As a result, I learned english in three months (gasp)

Currently a Lehigh University Grad student

When I decided to blog, I did it with women in mind. SO much of our time is spent being competitive with each other, so little time is spent holding ourselves and each other accountable...

Entrepreneurship is not easy, it's most certainly not for everyone, but it does not require an MBA either, only a desire to get out of one's comfort zone and the ability to communicate, particularly when communication seems impossible!
